Due to flooding in my neighborhood, this post didn’t get written quite in time.
Storms raged yesterday afternoon, which resulted in power outages and floods throughout Indianapolis. Many roads were impassable, and at least one neighborhood that I saw was under enough water that I could only see the top of an unfortunate car parked in the middle of the street. On my own street, the water was deep enough that I considered getting out my kayak, if for nothing else than a photo-op (I didn’t, because grounding the boat on concrete didn’t sound like a positive thing). So I wasn’t on here last night. Were we were struggling to not float away? No, thankfully, but we were having a great time playing in the floodwater, and making plans with a trusty neighbor to watch the house while we’re gone.
